Ripping daytrotter mp3 files

My friend Rich pointed me at daytrotter.com, and it looks like they have a really nice collection of live recordings by a bunch of interesting artists. All the files are available for download on their site, so using some trickery, I created a txt file of all the mp3 URLs so that you can use the same old wget trick to download them all. Watch out, there’s 869 files in there, so I’d expect over 4GB of music…

    Hi,

my first impression of your blog is, that I like it.

It would be nice if you would correct your txt-file for the mp3-downloads. It contains CRLF at the end of every line. It should be LF only. To achieve this you can use the tool dos2unix which is in sysutils on Debian GNU/Linux.

    Greetings.

How did you get the list where the files are stored? I could imagine it nice having also the artwork to the releases. So why not writing a script which makes directories for each release in the download dir and store the album art plus the songs in there?
